Rachel Atherton BVSc MS DipACVIM MRCVS

Rachel is a director, partner and senior vet at Lingfield Equine Vets.
Rachel graduated from Bristol University in 2001 and then spent 2 years working in mixed practice in Kent before moving to
the United States of America. There  she worked in a busy large equine referral hospital and completed an internship in
Equine Neonatology followed by a 3 year residency in Equine Internal Medicine. She obtained a Masters in
Biomedical Sciences and passed her diploma in internal medicine making her a specialist in this field of veterinary science.
She joined LEV in 2007.
As well as being a medicine specialist she is also a qualified acupuncturist.


 
 

Kate Granshaw BVetMed (Hons) CertAVP (EM, ES Orth)
 
Kate graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and then completed an internship at House and Jackson in Essex
before joining the LEV team in 2008. Kate became a partner at LEV in January 2014. Kate gained her Certificate of Advanced
Veterinary Practice in Equine Medicine in 2011 and passed th e Equine Orthopaedics and Surgery Certificate in June 2012.
Kate is an FEI permitted treating veterinarian and regularly attends BE Events providing care to equine competitors.
Her particular areas of interest are lameness, poor performance, critical care, complicated medicine cases and sports
horse medicine.  In her spare time Kate can be found walking her much loved Springer Spaniel Oscar,
pampering her retired mare Mia or training and competing with her young horse Wiz

Rebecca Mouncey BVetMed MRCVS 

Rebecca joined Lingfield Equine Vets in March 2009.
After graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London, Rebecca worked in large equine referral hospitals in
Newmarket and Dubai before returning to the UK to work at practices in Cornwall and West Sussex where she continued
to specialize in equine work.
Rebecca is currently studying for a post graduate certificate in Orthopedics and Surgery.



Sarah Woods BSc (Hons) BVM&S MRCVS 
 

Sarah originally from Yorkshire, graduated from Edinburgh in 2011. After a short stint in small animal practice she travelled to Australia to complete an equine internship working mainly with racehorses before returning to the UK and joining LEV. Whilst enjoying all areas of equine practice her main interests lie with lameness and poor performance. Away from work, Sarah enjoys keeping fit by competing in triathlons and walking her little dog Odie.
Jo Woodman MA VetMB MRCVS 
 
Jo joined the team at Lingfield Equine in September 2008 on a flexible part time basis although is very often seen working most days in the week . Jo graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 1988 and has worked in equine practice in Surrey and Sussex for over 20 years. Jo's professional interest is with performance horses and she has worked with endurance horses since 1989. Jo is an FEI 4* accredited endurance vet and officiates at many FEI rides in the UK and abroad as well the Golden Horseshoe ride on Exmoor each year. In 2012 she officiated at the Endurance World Championships at Euston Park as well as volunteering at the Paralympics in London. Jo is currently the team vet for the English Home International Endurance Squad. This year the Championship is in Scotland and the squad are very much hoping to win back the trophy they last won in Ireland in 2012


 



Dr. Filip Vaneeckhaute DVM  MRCVS
 

Filip graduated at Ghent University (Belgium) with a specialty in equine surgery  in 1977. He started an equine & farm animal veterinary practice in Belgium in 1979, by 1990 this had evolved into an equine specific practice. During 2000-2001 he was appointed the Supervising Veterinarian for the Saudi Royal Family Race Stables. Since 2001 he has worked across Europe mainly with racehorses, with a specialty in URT (upper respiratory tract) diseases and treatment.  Filip joined the team at Lingfield Equine in November 2012
Suzi Turley MRCVS
 
Suzi is from County Down in Northern Ireland and graduated from University College Dublin in 2011. Following graduation, she spent two months in Marrakech in Morrocco working for the charity SPANA, providing free veterinary treatment to working horses, donkeys and mules. Following this Suzi began an internship in Gloucestershire at B&W Equine Group for 18months. During this time she was involved in the care of hospitalised patients, working with orthopaedic, medical and surgical specialists. Her veterinary interests include geriatirc medicine and ultrasonography. In her spare time she enjoys running, swimming and watersports and is training for a triathlon
